What to Do the Night before Having a Facelift
You’ve had your consultations, scheduled your facelift procedure and now, the day of your facelift is fast approaching. While your longer-term prep has likely been ongoing for several weeks now, there are some things you need to do directly before your surgery day.
Here are some facelift prep tipsto keep in mind.
-
Fast Before the Surgery
Discuss any medications and supplements you take with your plastic surgeon during your consultation. These may need to be adjusted prior to your procedure. While the specific timeline may vary based on your needs and the time of surgery, the rule is usually to stop eating and drinking before midnight. This includes water. Ask your plastic surgeon about any medications you take and if those will be an exception to the rule.
-
Shower the Night Before
While you could also shower the morning of your procedure, chances are things will be a bit rushed. Instead, take a nice hot bath or shower the night before. Get clean and relax yourself, and gear up for the big day.
-
Prepare Your Hospital Bag
While you might not be staying overnight, you should still have a hospital bag packed. Include items like your current medications list, insurance card, patient forms, a change of clothing and sunglasses. Keep it fairly light but don’t skip essentials.
-
Check in with Your Support Team
Before heading to bed, make sure everyone who is set to support you during your facelift recovery is still ready to go. This includes the person who will be driving you to and from the hospital, anyone taking care of children and pets and the person who will be with you the first days after surgery.
