Millennials Are Skipping BOTOX® & Heading for Brow Lifts
As of 2021, we can officially say that Millennials are no longer kids. With the oldest of the generation in their 40s and Gen Z functioning as the young and cool adults, Millennials are facing all the things that come with growing older: bills, children, planning for retirement and, yes, wrinkles.
As they face aging, Millennials are making an interesting choice: in the brow lift vs. BOTOX® debate, they are happily choosing surgery instead.
How BOTOX Works
When BOTOX hit the market, it was seen as something of a revelation. Finally, people could address certain signs of aging without getting surgery. This injectable relaxes muscles and disrupts the neural pathways, preventing the brain from causing the muscles to contract. As a result, it smooths out lines and wrinkles until the effect wears off, which typically takes several months.
Why Millennials Are Choosing Brow Lifts
BOTOX is affordable, widely available and effective. But more and more Millennials are skipping the injections and going straight for surgery. The question is: why would they do that?
While Millennials choose both brow lifts and BOTOX, more and more are choosing surgery.
Well, there are a few reasons. First of all, many Millennials have more than just fine lines and wrinkles to battle; often, sagging skin and brows are also an issue. This is a generation that has spent much of their daily lives in front of a computer.
In fact, for most, they’ve used screens on a daily basis for over half their life. That places strain on the eyes and this translates into squinting and furrowing the brow.
Second, brow lifts last a decade or more. While BOTOX may be cheaper and can be done in minutes, many Millennials prefer solutions that last. They aren’t interested in multiple appointments each year.
