How to Plump Your Pucker: Lip Fillers, Lift or Augmentation?
Do you look in the mirror and wish your lips had a bit more volume? You aren’t alone – and you aren’t without options. There are more ways than ever before to add real volume to your lips. But how can you decide between lip fillers vs. lip implants vs. lip lifts? By having all the facts.
Lip Fillers
There are many ways to add volume to the lips, but not all will be right for you.Lip fillers are injectables that are strategically placed in the lips to add volume to the areas the patient wishes were fuller. Your doctor can target the center of the lip, the edges or the whole lip, and you can choose to just fill out one lip or both. The biggest advantage of lip fillers is also their biggest drawback: they’re temporary.
Lip Lifts
A lip lift involves removing a portion of skin to flip the top lip up. While it doesn’t add actual volume, it creates visual volume, which is ultimately the goal. This is a permanent procedure, which is an advantage, but it requires irreversible surgery, which is a definite downside.
Lip Implants
Lip implants are what they sound like: implant devices placed under the skin on the lips to enhance their volume. This is a surgery but is reversible. However, it does involve placing a foreign object in the body, which is something not everyone is a fan of.
