3 Secrets to Speed Up Your Nose Job Recovery
After any form of plastic surgery, you’ll have a recovery period. Luckily, this is fairly short with rhinoplasty; it takes just six weeks for the bones to heal, but you’ll be able to live life pretty much like normal after a week or so.
Still, six weeks is a long time to wait for the bones to knit together, and then the residual swelling can last up to a year. If you are looking to speed up nose job recovery, we have some solid tips for you.
#1: Follow Your Doctor’s Instructions
This is the number one best tip we can give you. So many patients take their post-op guidelines as suggestions rather than rules to live by. You need to follow those instructions to a T. If you don’t, you will slow your healing and even cause damage to the tissues of your nose.
#2: Sleep With a Wedge Pillow
Your nose will heal best when your head is kept elevated as much as possible. The problem is that most of us naturally sleep flat at night. By using a wedge pillow, you can keep your head elevated all night long, reducing swelling and preventing additional bruising.
#3: Treat Your Body Well
There are lots of things you can do that will help position your body for better and faster recovery. Eat well, stay hydrated, avoid drinking and smoking and exercise. All of these make big differences in how you feel and how you heal.
