Breast Augmentation El Paso and Las Cruces
One of the most popular procedures performed by Dr. Scot Martin is breast augmentation. El Paso and Las Cruces women, as well as women from all over the country, come to Dr. Martin with their desire to have fuller breasts. A breast augmentation will also aide in presenting the more proportional appearance desired by many women.
Here is what you can expect from a breast augmentation El Paso:
- How much is the procedure?
A Breast Augmentation with Saline implants cost $4,400 and Silicone cost $5,400. The quoted price includes all fees for Dr. Martin, Surgery Center and Anesthesiologist. That also includes all appointments: pre-op, post-op and follow ups. The only additional out of pocket costs would be: prescriptions, which cost approximately $100 (if you don’t have insurance) and a sports bra. - What type of anesthesia is used?
General anesthesia is administered. - How long does the procedure take?
The procedure itself is scheduled for an hour, but actual surgery time is about 30 minutes. You are required to be there an hour prior to the surgery and an hour of recovery after surgery. You can expect to be at the outpatient surgery center for approximately 3 hours. - What is the Keller Funnel?
The Keller Funnel is a device that was developed to eliminate the amount of contact between the patients skin and the implant as it is placed. This means there is no bacterial exchange from the patients skin to the implant prior to insertion and that reduces the chance of infection. It also reduces the amount of force necessary to insert it into the pocket. - What type of an incision is used?
Dr. Martin’s preferred method is the inframammary incision. The incision is made just along the underside of the breast, hidden in the crease. Using a device called the Keller Funnel, Dr. Martin can safely and more effectively place the implant without incidental touching or trauma to the skin or implant. - What type of sutures will be used?
We use a dissolvable suture. You will also have a steri-strip along the incision which can be removed at 7 days. - When can I resume normal activities?
The recovery is about 3-4 days before you can go back to work or possibly longer based upon the work. After the first week, light activity is good. In about two weeks you can get back to your normal activities including more strenuous work and exercise. - What is the difference between Saline and Silicone implants?
Most patients prefer Silicone implants, simply because they have a more natural look and feel and because they are lighter as opposed to Saline implants. 85% of Dr. Martin’s patients choose Silicone. Saline implants life expectancy is on average about 15-20 years and Silicone implants life expectancy is currently at about 12 years. - When will I see the final results?
You will notice results within the first week as the swelling goes down. However, the implants will still sit high and it can take anywhere from 8-12 weeks, in some instances longer, for the implants to completely settle into the pocket.
